YOUTH TOURISM TRAINING IN UGANDA.
Uganda has over 78% of its population under the age of 30, making it the world’s second youngest country but continues to face a challenge of rising youth unemployment.
With the rapid growth of East Africa’s and Uganda’s tourism industry, the demand for qualified and skilled tourism staff is on the rise.
Adventrip safaris is committed to equip Uganda’s youth with necessary tourism knowledge and know-how to cease business opportunities and future job endeavours in this highly competitive industry. We believe that personal development, education and skills development are the way to end poverty and youth unemployment. We advocate for a better future for youth in Uganda and East Africa through all the activities and projects we do. In line with the national need for skills development, we support economic development, by creating partnerships and projects to inform, educate and skill the youth in tourism in Uganda.
We facilitate and endorse a belief that tourism training will offer youth the chance to find jobs faster, to be self-reliant and establish their own businesses. In turn, they already commit to a more systemised change in Uganda, a change that starts with youth who believe, who can and who do.
We are helping young people develop skills they need to competitive on the job market in various disciplines of tourism and travel or even set up their own tourism business.
We transform the youths into passionate tourism professionals, educators, and advocates for change so they can transfer the knowledge and draw attention to the challenges and opportunities facing the tourism sector and cause change in different avenues and shape their own future.
Outcomes:
We mainly train young professionals – between 18 to 30 years who have completed any tertiary course in tourism, hospitality or travel disciplines. We help them understand the industry better, gain hands-on experience in tourism marketing, tour guiding, tourism and travel consultancy, tourism content creation, itinerary creation and tour costing, problem solving skills, professional communication skills, record keeping skills and basics of starting and operating a tourism business.
Through our periodical trainings, more and more youth are gaining confidence in themselves and their value within the tourism industry of Uganda and East Africa. Fresh University graduates are becoming much more ambitious and upon completion of their training, they become quite competitive on the job market or start their own businesses in the tourism industry.
