Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve.
Transfer to Samburu national reserve after a pick up at the airport passing through various plantations of sisal and pineapples to the Northern Frontier District.
This reserve is home to wildlife species like the gravy zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa Oryx & the blue-necked Somali Ostrich. These animals are not common and only restricted to this park. Embark on the evening game drive upon arrival and after checking in the accommodation of your choice to spot the different wildlife that reside in this conservation area.
Day 2: Full day game drive in Samburu National Reserve.
A beautiful day starts with an early breakfast and then head on a full-day exploration of the Samburu National Reserve. This day is fun-filled as you have your lunch in the bush as well as sunset moments. This reserve is well famous for elephants and large predators such as the lion, leopard and cheetah.
Other wildlife spotted here are reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Grevy's zebra, beisa oryx and the gerenuk (referred to as Samburu Special Five) among others. Enjoy the sundowners in the evening as you head back to the lodge.
Day 3: Samburu – Lake Nakuru National Park.
Have breakfast and then embark on a half-day game drive in the Samburu reserve to enjoy more fun of this national reserve. After lunch, you will transfer to the beautiful Lake Nakuru National park to experience an evening Game Drive.
Resident wildlife you will spot around this park include; black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s Giraffes, lions, waterbucks, buffaloes and olive baboons among others. Bird species you will watch here include; the Great White Pelican, African Spoonbill, Yellow-billed Stork, Lesser and Greater Flamingo, Long-Crested Eagle among others and this makes it possible to carry out birding experience. Check in at your accommodation facility for meals and overnight stay.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru - Maasai Mara Game Reserve.
Have an early breakfast and then discover the beautiful Lake Nakuru national park through a morning game drive as you find the way to Masai Mara game reserve. This reserve is well famous for the migration of wildebeests in its plains.
These plains are crossed by Mara and Talek rivers that serve as water reservoirs for the wildlife that are found here. This reserve is also a home of other animals like lions, cheetahs, elephants, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffalos, hippos and this makes it a herb for the big five animals.
Day 5: Full day Game Drive - Masai Mara National Reserve.
Kick-off the day with an early game drive where you will spot animals to mention but a few Masai giraffe, olive baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, topis, impalas, hartebeests, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos.
Depending on your safari time, you will witness migration of the great wildebeests which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Another chance comes as you visit the Masai people who are the initial inhabitants of this conservation area.
Day 6: Masai Mara - Amboseli National Park.
This morning, you will embark on a drive to Amboseli National Park which is located in southern Kenya. It’s famous for the large herds of elephants and stunning views of Mount. Kilimanjaro – the renowned roof of Africa, located in northern Tanzania.
Proceed with an evening game drive to have a chance of spotting wild animals like buffalos, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, hippos as well as numerous antelope species like Impala, waterbucks, bush bucks and so much more.
Resident bird species include bee-eaters, kingfishers, pelicans, African fish eagles and falcons can be spotted. After the drive, head back to your booked accommodation for meals and night stay.
Day 7: Full day Game Drive - Amboseli National Park.
Head for a morning game drive and experience Amboseli national park where you will spot more wildlife and among others include giraffes, lions, leopards, cheetahs and buffaloes.
Day 8: Amboseli National park- Nairobi. Departure.
Set off to the airport to catch up with the scheduled flight after your breakfast and this will be the end of this 8 days Safari in Kenya.
