Overview.
The safari will reward you with the best wildlife experience when you visit these two conservation areas - Serengeti and Ngorongoro, both located in the northern circuit. As you take this 5 days safari, you will witness one of the Seven Wonders of the World; the great migration of wildebeests.
It also gives you a chance to explore resident birds, undulating savannah and crater lakes. You should remember that Serengeti is one of Tanzania’s biggest national parks, offering her visitors a chance to view big five animals.
Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to the hotel.
Welcome to Tanzania! The assigned driver guide will pick you from the airport after a quick brief about the country and the safari at large. He will transfer you to the booked accommodation to relax and prepare for the next day’s activities.
Day 2: Transfer to Serengeti NP.
Get up early with a morning breakfast at around 06:00 am, and you will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha and depart with en-route game watching to Serengeti via Nabi Hill Gate where you will enjoy your packed lunch.
You’ll arrive in Serengeti in the afternoon in time to start your afternoon game drive in the heart of Serengeti National Park. This is the biggest national park in this region with a massive number of wildlife and among others include lions, giraffes, impalas, Thomson’s gazelles, cheetahs, zebras and wildebeests which are likely to be spotted. Later be transferred to your place of accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Full day in Serengeti NP.
On this full-day exploration of the Serengeti national park plains, you will enjoy the best scenery accompanied by Seronera River that feeds resident wild animals with water.
Enjoy your lunch in the bush which will be an unforgettable experience as you enjoy the migration of massive herds of wildebeests if it’s the right season - May, November and December. Other animals that are spotted include lions, giraffe, impala, Thomson’s gazelles, cheetahs and zebras. Return to the lodge later in the evening.
Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro crater.
Depart to Ngorongoro Crater after a well-spiced cup of tea. Ngorongoro Crater is an oasis for wildlife habitation. In Ngorongoro, you’ll see the volcanic caldera which boasts to be the world’s largest, filled with savannah grassland, forest and swamp, a setting of jaw-dropping beauty.
The waters of the crater floor support residence of more than 24,000 mammals including elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, jackals, wallowing hippos, waterbucks, baboons and even the rare black rhinos. You will have an evening game drive to view this wildlife and later on check back in at your place of accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Half-day exploration and transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Take a half-day game drive in this conservation area to spot more and missed wildlife in their natural environment. And then later, set off and transfer to Kilimanjaro international airport to catch up with your onward flight and this will be the end of this 5 days Tanzania safari.
