Overview.

Hike one of the eight mountains in Virunga Mountains in this 2 days tour where you will sight different primates and if you are lucky enough, you will see some gorillas. Mount Karisimbi is situated in Volcanoes national park. The park is in touch with Mgahinga national park in Uganda. Also, view different bird species and vegetation cover.

The summit rewards you with a view of a crater lake; hiking is enjoyable as you do a body exercise while discovering the world.

Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Drive to Ruhengeri and start the hike.

The driver guide will pick you from the hotel in Kigali after breakfast and then head to volcanoes national park. This park is famous for gorillas that are located in the Virunga Mountains located in Uganda, Rwanda and D.R. Congo. Volcanoes national park consists of five of the eight volcanoes in the Virunga Mountains, and these are Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo.

On arrival, head for a briefing at the park headquarters and also get the park ranger guide who will guide you as you take the hike. Pass through the forest and spot different primates and if you are lucky, you will spot some gorillas. Overnight will be spent on the summit.

Day 2: Descend and transfer to Kigali.

After enjoying the memorable moment while taking your breakfast, you will descend to the starting point where you will meet your driver guide and then transfer back to Kigali. Be dropped at either the hotel or airport for onward flight.
