Overview.
Take this 3 days safari to Volcanoes National Park where you will get a stunning view of a crater lake and the trails to reward you with different bird species and primates.
This safari takes you to Kigali, Rwanda’s capital city where you will visit the genocide memorial site and local markets. Also, an option of visiting the Dian Fossey graveyard is added to the list. This safari is considered to be among the top safaris in Rwanda.
Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival at the airport and transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
On arrival at Kigali international airport, you will be received by your tour guide/drive and go for an optional city tour and visit the genocide memorial, local markets among others. You will then set off to Volcanoes National park with an en-route view of the Virunga mountain ranges.
Volcanoes national park is located in Ruhengeri and famous for harbouring the endangered mountain gorillas in the Virunga Mountains. It is bordered by five of the eight Virunga volcanoes, and these include Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo. On arrival at the park, you will transfer to the booked lodge for your dinner.
Day 2: Hike Mount Bisoke.
Set off to the park headquarters for the briefing before the hike starts. Be assigned with an armed park ranger guide. Start the hike that will take about 3-4 hours to reach the top and be welcomed with a sight of Crater Lake and then descend back to the starting point. While on the hike enjoy different birds and primates like monkeys, olive baboons among others.
Day 3: Return to Kigali and departure.
Take breakfast and then transfer to Kigali city and maybe have your last shopping for some souvenirs. A drop off at the airport will follow for your scheduled flight.
