3 DAYS NYUNGWE NP SAFARI.

Overview.

Take this 3 days Nyungwe safari where you have a chance to take part in two main activities of this park; Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk that rewards you with beautiful adventure to explore Nyungwe forest’s beauty. The safari takes you to explore and trek chimpanzees, spot other primates like red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and vervet monkeys.

You will also have an option of visiting the genocide memorial centre, national museum and the local markets.

Day 1: Arrive and depart for Nyungwe National Park.

Welcome to Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills! The driver-guide will pick you from the airport and depart for Nyungwe forest national park. The park is home to over 13 primates - our cousins, the chimpanzees also inclusive. You have an option of visiting some attractions like the Rwanda genocide memorial grounds, Kigali museum and the local craft markets.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk.

Head for a briefing exercise at the park headquarters after a hot cup of coffee where you will gain more knowledge about the Nyungwe forest. The briefing will enable you to enjoy chimp trekking and learn about the dos and don’ts to follow while trekking.

The trek takes about 2-3 hours but an hour will be granted after setting your eyes on them for the first time. The forest is interesting with beautiful vegetation, bird species, snakes, mammals mainly primates like olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys among others.

Take a canopy walk adventure after lunch, the only canopy walk in East Africa. The canopy way is suspended on top of the forest canopy and you get to spot different birds and primates jumping from tree to tree. Among the primates spotted include red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and vervet monkeys among others.

Day 3: Transfer to Kigali.

Transfer back to Kigali national park after breakfast passing via bustling towns of Huye and Nyanza. Enjoy breath-taking views of countryside and cultural tours along the way. Then proceed to Kigali to the airport where the driver guide will drop you to take a flight back home. End of 3 days Nyungwe safari.
